Andrea Bel\u00e9n\u00a0: fabrics made with plastic captured from the sea<\/strong><\/p>\n

With Et\u00e9rea, every piece of clothe, accessory and shoe we make is eco-friendly. Andrea Bel\u00e9n, designer and leader of this national brand explains that the leather they use is carbon neutral certified; linen and cotton are 100% natural; also remarkably, the polyester that is used is recycled: \u201cIt is made with rubbish collected in the sea: with fish nets and plastic bottles. In addition, this recycled fabric provides 50 sun protection. It is crazy\u201d said Andrea.<\/p>\n

With a group of designers, Andrea Belen founded Espacio, a large store where 40 designers from Costa Rican are offering their products. She is also a founding partner of the Dress your Rights foundation, together with Sylvia Arias Pen\u00f3n and Diana Trejos. The foundation aims at creating positive social impacts through 3 areas: promotion of the Slow Fashion movement (Conscious Fashion); the paradigm of environmental and social sustainability in the fashion industry; gender equality, economic inclusion and social support to small and craft businesses, mostly women.<\/p>\n

Andrea Bel\u00e9n, dise\u00f1adora y directora de esta marca nacional explic\u00f3 que el cuero utilizado es certificado como carbono neutral; los linos y algodones que usan son totalmente naturales, y sorprendentemente el poli\u00e9ster que emplean en sus creaciones es reciclado: \u201cest\u00e1 hecho con desechos sacados del mar: con net (red) de pesca y botellas pl\u00e1sticas. Ese t\u00e9xtil reciclado adem\u00e1s, cuenta con protecci\u00f3n solar 50. Es una locura\u201d, dice.<\/p>\n

Ella tambi\u00e9n es socia fundadora, junto con Sylvia Arias Pen\u00f3n y Diana Trejos, de Dress your Rights, fundaci\u00f3n que tiene como fin impactar a la sociedad positivamente alrededor de tres esferas: promoci\u00f3n del Movimiento Slow Fashion (Moda Consciente); el paradigma de sostenibilidad ambiental y humanitario en el mundo de la industria de la moda; g\u00e9nero, inclusi\u00f3n econ\u00f3mica y participaci\u00f3n social para microempresarios artesanales, principalmente mujeres.<\/p>\n
